Full Root-level Access
Learn just what ‘full root-level access’ means, what benefits you'll have and ways to utilize them to adjust your server.
Having root-level access to your server signifies that you'll be able to view and change any file on it, which includes important system files. You can also install software which can change specific settings on the server during the process, so the installation is possible only if you are logged in as the root user. The aforementioned has full privileges, which means that you will have full control over your machine whenever you want and you can do anything you want. You may also create various other users either with similar rights or with fewer rights, depending on what you want them for - day-to-day tasks, other server admins, etcetera. To be on the safe side, it's generally recommended to employ the root account only when you really need it and not for tasks which can be done using other accounts. You can use a web-based graphical interface or a Secure Shell console to be able to connect to the server and to control it at the root level.

Full Root-level Access in VPS
The
VPS packages which we offer are appropriate for many different purposes, based on what you want to install and run on them and what experience you have. When your hosting server is ordered with the cPanel or the DirectAdmin website hosting Control Panel, you'll have full root access and will be able to take care of your Internet content using a graphical interface, whereas you can still install server-side applications that may be needed by your sites and even by offline apps, like VoIP software, media encoding software, various frameworks, and many others. Without any Control Panel, you'll also have full root-level access, but you'll need to do everything through a console. If you choose to use our in-house built Hepsia web hosting Control Panel, there will be certain root access limitations, but this configuration is the easiest to manage. That way, you can choose the virtual server plan that you really need.

Full Root-level Access in Dedicated Hosting
You will have full root-level access to your
dedicated server regardless of what package you select throughout the registration process, as long as the server is provided with cPanel or DirectAdmin, or with no website hosting Control Panel at all. In each of these three cases, you are able to change any part of the software environment in any way you see fit, that makes our server packages suitable for resource-demanding applications with specific requirements that can't be covered if you use a shared hosting account. The difference between these options is that with cPanel or DirectAdmin, you will have a web-based graphical interface to control numerous server-side options and also any site content that you generate or upload, while when you order the server with no Control Panel, you will have to do everything using a Secure Shell console or to set up a Control Panel of your own liking, if it's compatible with the OS which you've selected during the registration process. With the third Control Panel option that you will be able to pick on our order page - Hepsia, the root access will be restricted.
